We’ve received about 3-inches of new snow over the past 24 hours. The Washburn Lake Cross Country Ski Trails were packed today and will be packed again tomorrow after the 3-5 inches predicted for tonight arrives. On Thursday afternoon, we will groom and anticipate setting a track at the Washburn trails.
The Cassian Ski Trails cannot be groomed until the ground freezes in several places. We will be evaluating that on a day to day basis.
The Nose Lake Ski Trails will be groomed after the Washburn trails and after we get the grooming equipment over to the trail head. That may be this weekend, or possibly next week. We will post a conditions report when Nose Lake is groomed.
Like everyone, we are very antsy to be skiing and very happy for this early snow. It just takes a bit of time to get the kinks worked out and the grooming all set up. Given the lack of early snow the past couple of years, this makes some of us just giddy.
